Quick update
One more thing to deal with.......we woke up today to find head lice on all 3 girls and Penny. We spent the entire day shampooing and combing. What fun. And we will repeat it tomorrow. We also found out the reason we can´t get the birth certificates (Laura and Angela) is because the computers have been down in that office and the person in charge has chosen not to do it by hand. We can only wait and hope Monday brings better news. We have had a rough day with the head issue and get creeped out everytime we think of it. We will post pictures soon. Thank you Carrie for the doughnuts you left us in the morning. They were yummy and kept our minds off the crawling critters for a little bit (hopefully you don´t get them as a souvenir)

Oh Penny...lice for the girls and yourself! How did Brian get so lucky as to avoid the critters? I sure hope the birth certificates can be worked out a little quicker as I'm sure you're both getting frustrated. I hope you're home in time for the start of the OSU football season (ha ha). Miss you guys.

Hey Penny and Brian!!! I finally found your blog. Congratulations on the adoption. It sounds like things aren't going exactly as you had expected them, but that's parenting for you. Hang in there and keep praying. We'll keep you in our prayers as well. We can't wait to meet the girls. We'll have to get together once you guys get settled in... someday. Keep smiling and wiping those poopy diapers. They are so much fun! :-)
Oh Lice! Jessica and I prayed that the girls didn't have it. Jessica also had it when we got her. We just finally got rid of it a few weeks ago. After arriving home, we found out that La Maria is infested with lice terribly. They never really get rid of it there. Because of that the bugs are immune to the poison and it will continue to come back. However, there is hope. We finally ended up at the doctor after I broke down in tears over dealing with it for 2 1/2 months. It would take me 2 1/2 hours each time I checked Jessica's head to pick out every egg I could find. So, here is what killed it for us. We had to use real mayo, coat every strand of hair, put a shower cap on her for 12 hours (she slept in it) then wash it out and for 5 days check her head, strand by strand and pick out each white egg. If you don't get every egg it will come back. The eggs will not comb out, i had to pick them off with my fingernails. We used every poison out there, bought new pillows, washed sheets every day for a month and it still came back. But the mayo and dedication to picking out each egg finally did it. We are praying for you.
Oh Guys head lice. Brian remeber them the year we were on vacation and everyone of us had to shampoo and comb. A whole day was spent washing bedding towels etc so no others vacation was spoiled after we left. Hope things get better. Now it all seems tragic but someday you'll sit and have a good laugh. By the way hope the bed bugs don't attack I deal withthem every day where I work.
Love Annie
Ok--today has to be the day you guys can catch a break, not literally of course. Prayers for the birth certificates to push through and good luck with the lice. A girl had it while we were at El Refugio and all the ladies were so helpful. Hopefully, you are finding the same thing. Here's hoping for an end-of-the-week return!

I hope they didn't get lice from me at the mall!
We are hoping big and praying for you every step of the way.
As for plane advice, distractions seem to work the best. Lollipops saved us from Bogota to Atlanta. We had toys "solamente por el avion" and that seemed to help as well.
Hope all is well. It was so awesome to get to met you and your new family.
Much love,
Troy and Andrea
