A day at the Zoo..."Animal Park"

There is a story behind this picture....we decided to eat lunch at the zoo and found a place that sold hot dogs (perro caliente). We thought...that would be simple & quick since we were running late. We thought we ordered the hot dogs plain, but received them piled high with onions, crumbly stuff & ketchup....VERY MESSY. We left quite the mess at the table. Laura was not finished and wanted to take it along, so Penny convinced Laura to let her hold 1/2 of the hot dog while she finished the other 1/2. Brian figured she had forgotten about the other 1/2 since it was taking Laura forever to finish what she had in her hand, so he told Penny to throw it away.......less that 30 seconds later, Laura asked for it. Needless to say, we had a meltdown. She still had the 1/2 hotdog when she entered the van for the ride home.....fell asleep.....woke up and continued to eat the hotdog. You can see by the picture how messy it was. Not too sure what to say about this picture....just had to include it!

Today we went on an adventure...the zoo. Not just any zoo, it had plenty of rides for small children. We are not sure if there is a common Spanish translation for zoo. They call it the "Animal Park".....not sure if this is accurate or not.

The children had a great time! We were surprised to find that the park had more than just animals. There were quite a few rides, perfect for kids the age of ours. If it were not for nap time, we could have spent hours more exploring.
We were not sure how we were going to work in nap time, knowing that if this was not worked in somehow we would have meltdown central that night. We scheduled to leave the park around 2:00, but because of the hot dog incident, left around 2:30. We rented a van and 3 other families went. All 7 children (including our own) were asleep within 15 minutes. That must have been enough, because they were not too bad that afternoon (Rosa did go back to sleep....Mama new best).
It's amazing how quickly things change here at the B&B. When we first arrived, we were the only Americans, and only one person from Paris France that spoke a little English. Suddenly we find ourselves surrounded by 4 other American families. On the plus side, it is nice to have a conversation in English, on the negative side, it does not force us to speak Spanish.

The crumbly stuff was potato chips. I don't know why...but they load their hot dogs up with all sorts of stuff. :)
