If the girls didn´t take naps we would be hurting. Life as a parent to 3 is hard and good. We have had several melt downs today but thankfully only 2 at once and not 3. Angela loves to take risks and do exciting things which means she gets hurt alot. Laura is more reserved and quiet but her feelings get hurt sometimes. Now Rosita (which is what we normally call her) can not stand the word wait. It is NOW or else and we are finding creative ways to stop the fits but are afraid it might be too early for that. Getting 3 kids dressed and ready for breakfast was an interesting experience but mama and papa worked good together to get everyone down only 20 minutes late to breakfast. When Angela gets to see her new outfits she always does the cutest little dance. Today we went to the park and played outside and then coninued to color for a while inside. We had all 3 kids in the stroller and it was so cute. Hopefully I can get Brian to put a picture on the blog. It gets hard around 11 and 12 because we don´t eat lunch until 1 and the kids are already tired by then and have cried a couple of times. We are working things out and know that this is a hard time for the girls so we are just loving them the best we can. Please pray that we continue to be selfless for them and give them all the love they need even when we are exhausted. These children are so loved by the Lord!
We slept good last night but Angela and Rosa cough a lot and we are planning on setting up a doctors appointment soon. They all seem to have a lot of congestion. Thank you for all the emails and comments as those words pull us back into the ¨real¨ world. We love you all and know that we wouldn´t be here with out your help and prayers.
Oh and by the way Pennys sister had her baby on Monday! Welcome Topher Martin Gibson
Brian: The girls are asleep now...well almost, Angela is still awake... she seems like she will be the late nighter, she is the last to fall asleep & last to wake up. We are learning much about them very quickly. We hade some more meltdowns at dinner this evening, I just wonder what pople are thinking as we speak little Spanish, and only a couple of people speak a little English. The language barrier is tought on me, as I love to talk and meet new people, but am unable to, and I hate not knowing exactly what my children are saying or need. I know it will get better, just tough now. It is amazing how crafty they are at communicating though. I am learnig more spanish from them than I did from Rosetta Stone, or any book. They actually correcty me when I say things incorrectly. Wow, my wife is amazing.....somehow she snuck away to update the blog I see....she is going to be a great Mom, she keeps things under control with all the chaos.

I know you don't know me, but congratulations on your new little ones. They are beautiful!! My husband and I are also adopting from Colombia - still in the paperwork process though. I am so happy for you! God has given you three adorable blessings.
Everyone is getting to know everyone in Colombia. Each minute and day is all you have to deal with in their lives and God will help you with this task. We love the pictures and reports. Keep it up. Love Mom and Dad
The stroller looks more crowded than the last time you used it!! Glad to see they all fit nicely, making outings easier to manage. You're doing great!
Ah the terrable twos beginning at 1 and ending at 3. Try diversion or you might try suggesting something they can do. When they respond love them to death and keep telling them you love when they are so big. It's how we teach our teen mom's to respond to the melt downs. Keep up the good work. The beginning is always the hardest.
Love Annie
Brian and Penny-
We have talked to our in-country contact about seeing if we can switch to El Refugio. It looks like it has alot more room to play than the place we are scheduled to stay.
Love all of your posts!
Hope all is well and you are in our thoughts and prayers!

WOW, How exciting! It is so wonderful to be able to keep up with your journey. Sounds like life has few slow moments for you right now!
Blessings,
Shane
If you are still concerned about the kids coughing there is a pediatricians office called Clinisanitas. Wilma at El Refugio recommended this place to us when we were in Bogota and Alejandra had bronchitis. They were great there and the doctor's were wonderful! You can ask Wilma or Carmen and they can get you the help you need.
The girls are beautiful and it shows on your faces how much you love them already. God has blessed all of you to make a perfect family. I can't wait to meet them in person. Keep up the reports and pictures. Love, Phyllis
Congratulations on your 3 beautiful girls! We are so happy for you!

Yes, you learn to live for nap time! It's amazing how much stuff can be crammed into a 15 minute period, only to ask yourselves, "Now what?" Isn't it crazy!!? That's why we literally went on walks, rain or shine, every single day! In Bogota, every neighborhood is required to have a park, so you can find some beautiful ones tucked inside of places. It's kind of fun to go out and explore only to find them. We also went to Mimo's, Crepes and Waffles and Archies a number of times for snacks or on days we opted to eat away from El Refugio just to get away for a while.
Isn't the 1pm lunch crazy!?? It was the first thing we changed when we got home. It's so nice to eat earlier and get the kids down for a nap by 1pm. The girls will adjust though. Just give it time. These first few days are tough as you figure out what the schedule is. Our kids did not follow the schedule given to us by the foster mom at all. So we created our own. : ) Right now is a huge learning curve. It also helped when my husband and I split up the kids at times. Sometimes he just took two to the park while I hung out or went on a walk with the other or out to get diapers, etc. Although El Refugio is nice, let's be honest, the quarters are quite close!!!! You're doing an awesome job. Keep t up!
