Today has been quite good. No major meltdowns and everyone went to sleep for naps without tears (for the first time!). This morning we went into a shoe store and realized once we were inside they only sell baby shoes and shoes that kids can wear inside (like slippers). At that point since we told them nuevo zapatos they were ready to pick out shoes. So needless to say all 3 girls got a pair and wore them home. Tomorrow we will try again to get them tennis shoes. We had a great morning and the girls have been so well behaved except for some bickering between them. Rosita definately loves her papa and everytime she gets hurt or mad she calls for him. It is so cute. Brian has been the best Dad and I am amazed at how he just jumped into being papa. He sings them to sleep, wipes bottoms and gives medication without batting an eye. Last night we told the girls it was bath time and we have never seen them move so fast. They ran up the stairs, stripped naked and ran into the shower in a blink of an eye. It was so precious. We are glad that bath time is not an issue with them. We also had to buy some more outfits since some of what we brought are almost too small (Laura and Angela fit into 3t and Rosa 2t). All the girls love to play with the fake food and dishes. The kitchen set in our garage will get a lot of use. They also love books, coloring/drawing, babydolls and have begun to play with legos. Everyday we find out something else about them. Thank you all for your comments, suggestions, ideas for activities and prayers. We can tell that God has intervened and helped us along.

So glad you all had a good day.Refreshing. Lots of prayers still coming your way.
Congrats to the five of you!!I don't get to visit Blogland as much as I'd like to anymore. Just catching up and wanted to say, your children are beautiful. But, I'm sure you are aware of that. Safe travels home.
WOW! This takes me back to an amazing start. We are all staying in our same room at El Refugio, met the girls in the same room at ICBF and made it to the mall and back in one piece, just as we did almost 1 year ago.
Be encouraged, things amazingly get better once you are home and you are more comfortable with your surroundings. Our youngest had coughing issues and those too get better. She still deals with some breathing issues, but nothing like when in Bogota.
We are praying for all of your requests and stand with you through the grace and mercy of God. We can say, been there done that, and now things are great! Your family is beautiful! Just think, you are missionaries to Colombia and these 3 hearts were meant for you to specifically minister to...and they get to come home with you!
The Duewel Family
It is so fun to keep up with you all - we will be praying for you and asking that God continue to supernaturally bond your family together.
Great to hear things are getting easier. You two are made for parenting. It sounds like you are catching on fast. I love reading your updates and seeing the pictures. God will guide you all as you continue to grow closer together. What a loving family.
