The other side of the moon

Yesterday ended wonderfully and boy were we both surprised at what today started like. Even after a good nights sleep, the girls woke up grumpy. All morning was spent with many crying fits when someone didn´t get their way. We are handling it all in stride and getting better at knowing how to handle things. It just breaks our heart to hear them cry but we don´t want them to know that crying = attention from mama and papa every minute. With this all happening we still decided to take them out for a walk. Needless to say Angela and Laura threw a fit and only mama and Rosa went shopping. Penny came back with shoes! While papa heard 30 minutes of crying. Most of our life is content and funny but we are journaling this trip to remember not only the good but also the struggles we have overcome.

Last night while in bed we both laughed until we cried remember what happend at dinner. Brian took all 3 girls into the restroom connected to where we eat. He opened the door to come out and Angela and Laura came running out while Brian and Rosa stood in the doorway. Everyone in the room started laughing so hard because papa forgot to pull up Rosa´s pants. She was standing in the dining room with her pants/pull up around her ankles. Penny has lost about 5 more pounds here because meals are so busy and stressful she sometimes only gets to eat very little. We never knew that eating with 3 little kids would be so exciting and tiring at the same time. Sometimes we dread going to eat because it is so hard and usually takes so long.

Things we are looking forward to: Monday we meet again with our ¨case worker¨ and if all goes well we will start the court process. This is the time for us to ask any more questions also. Brian´s dad arrives next Wednesday so we are looking forward to a break every once in a while. Have a Happy Sunday!

I lost weight too. It is hard to get much eaten when you're trying to attend to the needs of 3 little people. We finally started taking turns staying at the table to finish. Dan would mostly eat, I would help them all eat and then he would take them to play and I got to eat in peace. We would reverse this the next time. It will get easier as everyone gets the hang of what they are supposed to do.
Love following your journey.

Oh... I love this picture of you all sitting at the table at El Refugio. That was our table when we were in El Refugio and Alejandra (our daughter) turned the light on and off many times!

We lost weight as well when we were there. I think it is the balanced meal sizes and the routine of eating 3 meals a day at a set time. I think this all might help the metabolism speed up.

Your girls are so beautiful and you all look like you are having a wonderful time getting to know each other as a family.

Brain and Penny,

Rebecca had to give me the web address to follow your blog because I managed to misplace it. I absolutely love looking at each new posting. The girls are so beautiful and the two of you have such a positive attitude, even when things aren't easy. I'll check the blog tomorrow to see what adventures you were involved in.

Love ya...Missi and BJ Webb
