Well, we have just found out the children we had heard about earlier have been posted (officially available for adoption). Our representative in Colombia has handed the officials our letter requesting these precious ones. Now we just wait some more, possible up to 3 weeks to hear if these are the ones God has chosen for us. We already love these children but know that God has all of us in His mighty hands.
This is different in the way it usually works, normally families are contacted once they receive the official referral for children which comes with information and pictures. Then they need to write a letter accepting the referral. We are doing it in a semi backwards way. Our adoption agency has matched us with some children they feel will fit into our family so we are requesting these specific children. Then once we receive the official word, we will write our acceptance letter.

- CHI: Children's Hope International (our adoption agency).
- Dossier: Official paperwork that includes our homestudy and all other documents in Colombia.
- Forever Family: When adopted children get to live with a mom and dad permanently.
- Gotcha Day: The day we get to meet our children for the first time.
- Homestudy: Paperwork that includes visits with a social worker and other personal information that is required to adopt (expires in 2 years).
- Referral: The official word and papers that say these are your children if you want them.

Just found your blog through CHI. This is exciting news! This *almost* happened to us . . . CHI told us about three kids and we requested more info.; that same day, we had a referral!
