During the past couple of months we have been in the process of updating our home study and paper work since it has been almost 2 years. It has required us to fill out more paperwork and get our fingerprints done another 3 times. Some of you had to do some work also, thanks Marilyn for your letter. It was hard getting started to fill out the paperwork again because Penny felt she was being punished for having to wait for the children. Needless to say we understand it is important and know that God is ultimately in control (thank goodness). We are now just waiting for the FBI to get their information back and we should be done (our update is due in May).
This Thursday we leave for a much needed getaway to Pittsburgh for some rest and shopping. We will be staying at a Bed and Breakfast and then spending the day at IKEA to get some items for the kids room. We still have a lot to do in order to get the room ready and the rest of the house so that will keep us busy for awhile. If the weather is nice we get out and do some hiking while we are there.
We haven't heard any news yet but continue to prepare our house and hearts. Check out some of the other blogs listed as two more families are in Bogota meeting their children.

- Dossier: Official paperwork that includes our homestudy and all other documents in Colombia.
- Forever Family: When adopted children get to live with a mom and dad permanently.
- Gotcha Day: The day we get to meet our children for the first time.
- Homestudy: Paperwork that includes visits with a social worker and other personal information that is required to adopt (expires in 2 years).
- Referral: The official word and papers that say these are your children if you want them.

Hi Brian & Penney! I have never blogged before and I just typed a message to you but have no idea where it went! lol In any event, the jist was...We just found out this weekend where you guys were in the process and are very excited for you! Our thoughts and prayers are with you! I mentioned (in my last message in cyberspace) about patience. God loves to teach us about it. He did through Advent in the coming of our Lord, Lent and for the Final coming of the Lord. Lots of sayings about patience. It's a virtue.....anything worth having is worth waiting for.....it seems like many people hurry up and wait for this and that. This is a life journey. Enjoy every day toward your journey. Hey! I wasn't sure if you were joking about us taking someone with us to help with the suitcases or not, but the answer is no. We have managed fine and things acctually went better (with the suitcase part) then we thought!
