Happy Birthday A and L!

Can my girls be really be turning 7? I don't know where the time has gone. We had a wonderful birthday week that ended with a swim party with friends at the rec center. We were blessed to be surrounded by such loving family and friends! The girls had a fun time and made some great memories. We had a very emotional week as well and I was just reminded about how birthdays sometimes bring up feelings of loss and grief in adopted children and I believe that we witnessed some of those feelings this week. She seems more like herself now but in the future we need to find ways to help her cope with these feelings. The road to healing will probably take the rest of her life...I guess we all will be working through our own hurts until we get to heaven. Anyway, L was saying all week how she doesn't want to be 7. She wants to stay 6 for another year. As you can see she doesn't like change very much. But 6 was a great year.

A and L lost 2 teeth, A and L learned to swim and now can dive for rings at the bottom of the deep end, A learned to ride a bike, A and L are turning into great readers, A and L can cross the monkey bars, A and L are now in tap, jazz and ballet. They both love fruits and vegetables, and most desserts. A-is super funny and so loving, she always wants to cuddle. L-is a great helper and an inquisitive girl, she loves hugs and babies. Both girls have amazing imaginations and are very creative. L-always talks about how Jesus is her friend and A loves to worship God through dance. A-refuses to get her hair cut because she wants to be Rapunzel. The girls also take baths by themselves and fix their hair in the morning. Can growing up happen this fast? Happy Birthday to our beautiful Princesses! God truly rejoiced when you were born!
